Been thinking of the single giant tree to dominate the set of As You Like It…
I’ve gone through a number of iterations in my thinking: 3D, not 3D, realistic, not realistic, primitive (almost like a child’s drawing), cartoonish… Nothing has felt right. Yesterday, I saw a Keith Haring piece from 1985, and this is closer…
But my vibe for the look of the set is less round, more angular, sharper… and so I took the Haring as a model, but made it more “pointy”…
The green ground section would actually be painted on the floor, reaching out to the audience.
Not quite sure how we’d pull this off… but this is closer to where I want to go…
