A new (blog?) direction…

OK, so Monday, I ran the announcement by Camarillo Skyway Playhouse that I would be directing As You Like It in the new year.

Needless to say, I am very, very excited.

And even in the midst of the home-stretch (and I mean the last few days) of my Masters thesis, and the midst of the run of Fifteen Men in a Smoke-Filled Room (for which we finally got our first review… and it’s a goodie–may share it in the next few days), and in the opening days of Bus Stop (…yes, ANOTHER play: we just started rehearsals… and I finally have a reason to get out the old six-string), I’m prepping this new As You Like It show…

As of now, there’s no certainty as to performance dates. Rumor has it that it may be the first show out of the gate, so we’ll need to see when we’ll get this process moving, but just to be safe, I’m prepping.

And here’s where the blog is going…

I will be sharing the directorial process as we go… These directorial blog entries will have titles prefixed with “AYL:” so if you don’t care to watch the sausage being made… or you don’t want any spoilers before you COME AND SEE the show, you can skip the entries pretty easily. I will still do the “This Week in Shakespeare” videos, but for now, we’re gonna go directing now…

Buckle up: it’s gonna be a bump(il)y (fun) ride….
