Sacrifices. And Not

OK, so you know I’m working as an assistant stage manager on a show (we open on Friday…tech week…must. have. more. time. anyway…more on that later in the week). I love the show. You wanna know how you can tell? Because there are two things I can’t see/attend because of the run.

What does this have to do with Shakespeare, you ask?

Well, how does Shakespeare-themed burlesque sound to ya?

It’s called “Toil and Trouble,” and their website proclaims:

lets face it- when the greatest burlesque performers in Los Angeles team up with the greatest playwright in the history of the English language… only great things can come of it, right?

“Some are born great, some achieve greatness, and others have greatness thrust upon them.”

Come let us thrust some greatness upon you.

Love the cheeky tag line (“cheeky”…see what I did there?)…

Well, it runs on Saturday (see below!!!), June 13, during our run, down in LA on Sunset.

So there’s that.

PLUS, running during–and closing–before our run ends is…and I kid you not:

London Calling: A Musical

This show, with music by the only band that matters, runs on weekends in June at the Hudson Backstage Theatre as part of the Hollywood Fringe Festival.

Ah, the sacrifices we make…

UPDATE

Well, I’m a dork (not exactly a news flash)… while I assumed that I couldn’t make the burlesque show…a quick review of the date reveals it’s a Tuesday… so with no weekday show, no sacrifice…I’m so in…
