On Saturday, April 23 — yes, that’s the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s death (or deathiversary, as I like to call it) — the Kingsmen Shakespeare Company will be celebrating the day with what they’re calling “a special, community-inclusive Bard-Day bash to mark the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s life and works!”
Happening at Overton Hall on the campus of California Lutheran University, in Thousand Oaks, California, this will be a round-the-clock extravaganza, with everything from table readings, scene mash-ups, a sonnet marathon, games and more. And included in that “more” will be your humble moderator of this humble blog.
I’ll be delivering a 45-minute presentation on two of my favorite topics, Romeo and Juliet and time. Think of it as my literary chocolate and peanut butter: separately good, but together? Fuggetaboutit.
